Untidiness of the bathroom
Ready welcome...room light airy comfortable and very clean,,,fruit bowl provided.. nice touch. Toiletries very good selection.A feeling of quality about the room, noticed it was an ex Melia Hotel.
Soundproofing between rooms needs attention if you do not wish to encounter the sounds of amorous adventures.Pay for garaging within the garage (automatic ticket dispenser) not at reception.A long tortuous walk from the garage and the reception staff did not know how the payment function operated.
The location was perfect, just on the edge of town, with only a 10/15 minute walk into the centre. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were well equipped with tea making facilities as well as an iron and ironing board. The room was a good size overlooking the rear of the hotel. We had breakfast at the bar (not the restaurant) and for 3 euros each, had toast, juice and tea/coffee - excellent value for money in a 4 star hotel!
The swimming pool was shut, which was a great surprise as it was 34 degrees c when we arrived, and the temperature of the pool was lovely. We were told that it shut on 04/09/11 and we arrived on 16/09/11 - not sure if this is normal, but if you are expecting to use the swimming pool at any time other than July and August, do check with the hotel before you book. The receptionist was very apologetic.
This hotel was very nice, and the staff friendly and helpful. It is located within a short walk (15 minutes approx) of the city centre. We found street parking available, but there was also private parking if required. The rooms were beautiful and breakfast at the bar was very good quality and value. Would definitely want to stay there again if visiting Ubeda.
Very nice and comfortable room with a wonderful view over the landscape. The beds were excellent.
A good restaurant and morning buffet.
The room was very hot. The regualtion did not work well. We told the reception, but it did not change. We had to open both doors of the balcony. Forttunately, the street below was fairly quiet at night, but not in the morning!
Located close to main roads and within easy access of centre for sightseeing
Garden area not readily accessible which would have been a good place to relax due to the heat
Hotel was able to provide us a good break and relaxation.
The fact that although I had two small children with me they didn't provide us with extra beds and over charged us for breakfast. Especially for the small children that were charged as adults.
Don't know english even in the front desk, very hard to comunicate, no help with the luggage very hard to bring the luggage if you have some heavy ones, in the resturant the same problem no understanding of english, and not the best resturant in town. Breakfast was fine.
good value for money if you can get a good offer. Lots of amenities and a helpful staff as you would expect from a 4* hotel.
The hotel is quite old but clean and roomy. It's about 15 min walk from city centre ( we knew that already).
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Free parking was available on the street.Buffet breakfast was excellent. A la carte evening menu was excellent
Maid service was spasmodic-mini-bar and coffee not replenished.
This is a very nicely presented, quality hotel. We were very pleased to find a tray with wrapped fresh fruit, water, plates, cutlery and napkins on the teble in our room. There was also a hospitality tray - not usual in Spanish hotels. Beautifully presented bed, and a most comfortably and relaxing stay. Breakfast very good and varied.
Trasffic noise is not noticeable because of good double glazing and curtaining, but we could easily hear noises in adjacent rooms, so a bit disconcerting. Nevertheless, a very good night's sleep was had by both of us.
The room was cosy when the weather was awful outside
The dinner in the evening was cold and the hot food at breakfast was dried up.
RL Ciudad offered five star service and quality in a very reasonable four star hotel just out of the centre of one of the most remarkable towns in Spain.
The hotel itself is clean and tidy and our room overlooked the pool and adjoining countryside - all very pleasant. The hotel is easily found on the outskirts of town and has a spacious carpark - unfortunately being located on the outskirts it is just a little too far to comfortably walk into the historic centre on a regular basis.
Our stay was marred by inattentive, unfriendly reception/bar staff - who generally gave the impression that they didn't want to be there and guests were simply a nuisance ! The reception desk was not staffed on our arrival and service the dour when staff eventually appeared. The bar frequently devoid of any bar staff in the evening - although other staff happily called to get a drink and then disappear. We didn't have the patience to try the restaurant !! ..........and finally, difficulties with an inoperative car park barrier were simply ignored until the manager intervened !
